Honestly, maybe it is the time of year, but now mums best friend is in hospital with massive bleeding at the front of his brain! He collapsed at work yesterday morning after saying he was feeling a little odd, then he had a fit and became unconcious. An ambulance rushed him to hospital and they are going to operate today, I guess to stop the bleed and relieve the pressure on the brain. The worry at the hossy is he keeps having large fits and is slipping in and out of conciousness. Mum is terribly upset and worried as you can imagine, and herself is in no fit state to go visit him, altho at the moment he can't have visitors. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that he makes a full recovery quickly. Damage to the brain always sounds so very terrible.
Oh dear EJ I do hope your mums friend will recover well after the operation. Life is such a tenuous thing and throws so much our way. Your poor mum must be beside herself with worry. I'm sending healing thoughts his way and keeping everything tightly crossed.
It was a bad winter here, too. Today my best friend's Mom is going in for open heart surgery. She was my second Mom when we were growing up. She's in her mid 80's so we're all waiting to hear.
I will keep my fingers crossed kaseylib. It is such a worrying time! I keep thinking, roll on summer, so we can all be healthy and happy again!
I'm crossing everything I can for both your mum's friend, EJ, and for your extra mum, kaseylib. Please keep us updated.
Well, mum spoke to his sister this evening and they have been unable to operate because of his weakening state. They will monitor him some more and decide what to do tomorrow. I fear as time passes, more damage will be done. Frightening thing is, this came from nowhere. He was a fit and well man in his early 50's, normal blood pressure, reasonably healthy lifestyle, not overweight and so on, so this really has shocked everyone. Thanks for keeping him in your prayers and fingers and toes crossed. I know your power!
EJ, how horrifying. Something caused him to have the seizure and bleeding. I hope they can figure out the problem. Fingers and toes crossed for everyone. Kasey, fingers crossed for your 'other' mom as well.
My goodness, EJ. This really doesn't sound good at all. It sounds like a burst aneurysm, doesn't it? I hope that they can get in there to remove the haematoma and stop the bleeding(if it hasn't stopped already. Intracranial episodes are always tricky to handle. Here's wishing your mum and you guys strength.
