As a few of you know if there is a yard sale anywhere within driving distance dr and I will be there. We had errands to run this morning so didn't check the paper. After running here and there from 8 am until 2 pm we got back home. dr sat and read the paper while I checked in here. He came and said there was a big sale that started today and it was about 15 minutes from us. So, we got back into the truck and trundled over there. They had stacks of new material for twenty-five cents a yard. I spent about twelve dollars. I might have spent more but dr wanted to buy a utility trailer and he met a man at the sale who had one for sale. So we followed him to his place and dr bought the trailer. He'll pick it up next week when the man does a few things with it.
There are five more sales between now and Saturday. Think I might make them all?

I was wondering Dooley, apart from getting a bargain, can you put into words why you love yard sales so much? I like flea markets, and I guess it's because of the excitement of finding something unexpected :)

OO do let's see what you bought Dooley. :smt026

There are no plant sales around here at this time of year so I'm having severe withdrawal symptoms. :(

I agree ... it's impossible to find yard sales at all this time of year here. Our peak time for yard sales is June-Sept.

We originally started going to yard sales because dr we had a store where we sold antiques and other used stuff. Then, we had a kitchen store that sold old and antique kitchenwares and coffee and spices by the pound and ounce. Then, dr started doing flea markets, too. So, we've always sort of bought and sold. Sometimes we kept more than we sold and I guess we still do because we don't always fit into our space. We did go back to that sale this morning. I bought some baskets for a quarter each and some old tins. I bought six tins and she charged me ten cents. We might go back tomorrow if it's not raining. dr saw some stuff but he didn't know she was discounting things so didn't buy them.
I'm sorry that I can't post pictures right now. I can't load my camera stuff so I can put pictures into the computer. I tried and I think I wiped out my dvd/cd drive. The little icon is gone now. I might have to try the system restore thingie and see if it comes back. I'm just afraid I'll wipe out everything and be back to nothing. dooley
