Another Dose of Colour

Here is a collection of Astrantias. I like the red ones best, but the white ones are the most common here.




I hope these help fight the winter blues.

I love the Astrantias, but they do not grow for me, too hot and humid here. Thanks for sharing your beautiful flowers, they brightened my rainy day.

 

Lovely collection! I've only got three, a white one, a red one and one with variegated leaves. Some pink ones might be just the thing. They last forever and never fall down either.

 

Thanks for sharing these photos. They're not commonly found in our area garden centers, but I know they're available through catalogs. I'll have to seek these out because they really are a unique plant. I've got a lot of shade, and they're supposed to be good in dried flower arrangements. Thanks, Sjoerd.

Thank you folks for your friendly comments. I especiallyu like these flowers and hope to add a couple of new ones this year.
Their flowers are so unusual and there is a style of Dutch jewleery that is names for this flower... or the flower for the jewlery style, I should say.

Very beautiful Sjoerd...keep those beautiful pictures coming...We are having some very bad weather..I would say some of the worst this winter. We woke to freezing rain and then it turned to snow and it is still coming down steady. They said we could get 10 inches today...I guess we are already about 2 feet over from the normal snowfall ...we don't need this much..The branches are all ice covered... :-D

 

Goodness gracious, Sherry...you folks really DO have more than your fair share of snow there, don't you? I get cold just hearing about it. We were able to go out to the lotties today and yesterdayt to so some work. It was quite nice and sunny....but verrrrry cold. heh heh heh...it all balances out.
