I'm looking for a low-maintenance green houseplant for use at my office. I've had a spider plant for a few years now and it has become pot-bound and I think its starting to choke itself off. I could take it down, thin it out, and restart with a skimpy plant again - doesn't sound like fun cycle to get in to. Rather, I'd like to find something to replace it. I would like something that thrives when pot-bound and doesn't need to be thinned out. I would also like something that drapes/hangs down. Also, my office has no windows, but the plant will be hanging up high near fluorescent lights which are on 8-10 hours a day. I already have some philodendrons, so I'm looking for something to compliment them. One local nursery suggested a rabbit foot fern but from pictures I've seen, it doesn't seem to drape down much at all. Any other suggestions?
