We just returned back from Ohio yesterday from unloading all of my sons stuff off the trailer. He had 2 other friends going also so there was quite the load. Today he says will be organizing, tomorrow they will get their water turned on and bills will be put into their name. College will then start up some time the end of August. Its always hard to see your kids go. We always hope they will remember what we have taught them. And that they go back and use any helpful info that was given to them. We have 1 more but it'll be alteast another 8 yrs before she leaves. I remember it seemed 'time' would go by so slow when I was growing up and now it just seems like 'time' just flys by. its kind of hard to believe I have 2 kids out on their own. Its even harder to believe that one of those is my daughter about ready in Sept. to have her first baby. Where did the years go??
When my youngest was born I told Randy (she is his first child) that in 6 weeks she would be starting school and in 6 months she would be graduating and moving off to college...time would go that fast. Well the starting school and graduating from school parts went like clockwork but the moving out part not so much.
Ha-ha Toni...my friend's daughter has decided to attend a nearby college this semester and will also be returning back home. So much for my friend's dreams of creating a sewing room in her daughter's old bedroom!!!
Petunia is going to be a grandmother! How lovely. It's so strange when the babies move out and make lives of their own, isn't it? And you're right, time does fly faster the older one gets. Good luck to your son, I hope he will like it where he is and enjoy his nearly-grown-up life.
Congratulations on becomming a grandmother. And all the best to your son. We just have to trust that the values we instilled in them will be ever on their minds. He will do fine. Time does fly!!
All my 'chicks' flew the nest some years ago but, thankfully, they visit often. It's hard for a mum to cut the ties but I'm sure your two children will make you very proud of them now that they are out in the big world on their own. Congraulations on your, soon to be, grandchild. :-D
Petunia, Hello, my name is Richie Cooper and i live in New Paltz, New York with my wife of 39 years. We have 2 daughters. Our older daughter has been living on her own for the past 3 years, but my youngest daughter just graduated college last month. She went to Oneonta for 3 years and her last year was done at FIT in New York City. While at FIT she discovered that she loved the Big City and next Saturday (8-5-09) we will be moving her to her own place in Brooklyn. So, my whole point is that I feel your pain. I am VERY worried about my little girl living in Brooklyn! I seems like just a few years ago they were born and now they are out on their own and somehow I am 64 years old!!! The only plus we have is that we are all good people and have taught our children all the right things and they will use that to live their lives. Richie Cooper
