Friends the parakeets are fast asleep and I'll be there shortly BUT I need your help with my giant plant. It is so big I have trouble lifting it so I got a trolley thing. I know it must be cut back but I don't know how to do it. As usual I REALLY need your help. Let me send you a picture so you can see. sleep warm ed
Wow, that is a big one! If you mean because it is taking up too much space, then it could need to be trimmed. From the viewpoint of the plant, no trimming is necessary. If & when needed, you can trim entire leaves, or partial leaves. As it ages, it will continue to make bigger and bigger leaves. I'm not sure from this far back what kind of Agave it is. If it is A. americana, they get HUGE! I uploaded a couple pics in 2016 of one that got to about 8 feet tall before finally blooming. Two pics show it's as tall as the roof of the house behind it: https://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/182660
I was just afraid that I would kill the plant as there are several pieces of the plant that have to be removed. ed
