Another snow bird

    This girl came flying in with her lunch and stayed long enough for me to snap a few pics.


    Adult female Cooper's Hawk.

    Here is a closer look at her face.

    Hawks have that look don't they?

    Notice the red eye.

    Lunch is a European starling. Notice the black bill by the hawks left foot and the strling spots.


    I know it is a female by the sheer size of it.

    Great shots of your Cooper's hawk Ron. I know it's a shame the starling had to die but, after all, the hawk has to eat too doesn't she?
