I was so overjoyed again this morning. As I was getting my hubby's stuff together for work I looked out the kitchen window and there HE was. The male Pileated Woodpecker at the same stump having a morning snack.
:-D Photo's are a bit out of focus but I was dancing with joy anyway. When I looked at the pic's I noticed that their body shape from the back looks like a heart. How neat. I am hoping for little Pileated's to show up next year. Wooohooo!

Hey 2T-- I am really liking these woodpecker postings of yours. I find that you are so lucky to have this beast coming to your yard.
...annnd who knows, perhaps you will see a bunch of little pileateds show up next year.
That would be too good for words, wouldn't it.

Looks like your yard is getting to be a regular stop for the Pileated Woodpeckers. They must like that tree. And we get to see all the great photos!!

Oh I do hope that your pair breed and bring their youngsters into your garden. Our Great Spotted Woodpeckers brought their son to our feeders and it was a real thrill to see all of them tucking into the fat cakes. Hey maybe yours will even nest in your garden. Wouldn't that be fantastic!! :smt026

Jerry I sure hope they keep coming. Thanks for the cudos.

Chocolate they are an awesome woodpecker.

Eileen That would be so fun to see young from that pair come to our feeders. I checked out your Great Spotted Woodpecker and they are really neat looking. I love how different they are colored.

Droopy I hope they hang around for many years. :stew1:
