Today's walkaround was one of anticipation! So many things almost blooming or just emerging from the ground. The earliest cherry tree bloomed just a few days after hopefully our last freeze (and 2" of snow in May). Hosta What's left of the purple mini iris (the cold didn't help them). White ones about to bloom. Quince I have no idea why I have one yellow tulip. Lungwort Looks like the bleeding hearts waited just long enough to bloom. I was worried they'd all get nipped. Early look of the shade garden. Not a lot going on yet. Ferns emerging Cherry tree #1 looks fine after the freeze! Looks like the mini iris about to bloom will be white and purple. More mini iris about to bloom.
It's amazing just how many plants manage to survive the winter months isn't it? Your garden is still ahead of mine by, I'd say, three to four weeks. I just hope my plants survive as well as all yours have.
The trees are very large and without their leaves yet. Here's an overhead photo that shows how much shade we usually get.
Very nice Tulips,..and the Bleeding Hearts are looking healthy,..so is everything else,..interesting lot if Mini Iris they are covering a nice area.
Wonderful to see everything popping out of the ground all at once . Plants here do one type at a time and we don't get the explosion you do. How exciting!
We have had to be very patient this year haven't we? That snow last week was weird! I'll be glad when the overnight temps are more seasonal instead of so chilly! I want to put my jacket away and get to playin in the dirt!! Your gardens look beautiful, and more to come!!
