I have 3 OLD dolls that I need to do something with. I think there may be some value there but how do you find out?? Does anyone know anything about antique dolls? :-o

Thanks Droopy :-D I spent one whole afternoon looking on the computer at these sites...confusing  I did find one that charges $12 for a "simple" appraisal. I think I might take pictures of the biggest doll and forward them to her. Since she charges $12 per doll I'm only going to check out the biggest of the 3, I think that one is probably the most valuable. The back of the dolls head has "Simon & Halbig" on it. I looked up Simon & Halbig and they made many, many different doll parts. Mine doesn't have a mold number, that is why I'm so confused :( I thought I might go to our public library and see if they have any reference books that might help. Sometime in September there is a GREAT BIG antique show at the fairgrounds. I might take the dolls with me and see if there are any experts there :p

GOSH... I can honestly say I am a doll collector, NOT ! LOL
But I wish I had a few really expensive ones... I'd sell them and buy shrubs, trees, cool plants.
Stratsmom, this reminds me of a Will&Grace episode, some show comes to town, a very knowledgeable British guy comes to appraise/evaluate antiques.
Grace got a porcelain pot or something... Really nice episode!
    I am giggling now....

U DO? then you must know the episode I am writing about...
I have about 3 or 4 seasons on DVD but I am not sure how many seasons there are in total.
Karen is my fave though. Always has the smart line up her... glass!

I'll try to get some photos so you can see what I'm talking about.

As far as Karen...my little sister is VERY sarcastic and I think she is more Karen than I am ;)
