I just called her cell, hoping that Shanna or Kevin would answer it, but it went to voice mail. I left a message inquiring about how the procedure went. I ask them to call me so I could pass the word along. As soon as I hear something, I will post it. Dooley, if you hear from them, please post it. I'm sure she will come through with flying colors!
Yes,,please let us know how she is. She's a tough woman and i'm sure she will come thru with flying colors!
I just got a call from Glenda. They are going to be taking her in about 4:45. The lady that was scheduled ahead of her had a very difficult procedure. And the doctors had a hard time with the procedure. She said Shirley has a list of different ones to call when they complete the procedure. Glenda will go to ICU, probably for the night. Since she hasn't eaten since last night, she said she is hungry!!
Oh I just can't help worrying. I'll feel 100% better once she's out of surgery. I hope everything goes smoothly for her. I'll check in again from time to time to see if there's any more news.
Glenda's cousin Shirley called me. She said they had not long taken Glenda in and this was at five. Speed up those prayers and positive thoughts.
I left a message at the house for her. What a long day for her! I'll feel better when I know she's ok :-o
As bystanders, you always feel a bit uneasy in times like this. It's the 'not knowing'...and no way to find out that gets to you. Personally I do not have any worries at all because her procedures, while there is always a small risk involved, they are relatively straight foreward na not too complicated. It's just the not hearing that I find so difficult. In the absence of information the mind can begin to imagine all sorts of possibilities. I hope Glenda is fine and recuperating comfortably this evening. I shall be checking back often to seee if there is any word.
I hope things are going faster now for her...I hope she doesn't try to eat too soon after surgery...prayers sent her way for a fast recovery...Sherry
Shirley, Glenda's cousin, just called. Glenda had a small episode during the surgery. The doctor assured them it wasn't a stroke, and when he checked her a while ago she had greatly improved. They will keep her in ICU overnight and he will check her early in the morning. He will decide then if she can go home.
I just got the call also, but it was on my voice mail (I was brushing my teeth) !! Shirley just said she came through the procedure OK,(what else can you say to a machine!) and was in ICU. And would probably get to go home tomorrow.
I'm just now getting on the computer. I was in class all day and had Shanna and Shirley try to text message me and keep me updated. Shirley said Mama had a TIA which is a interruption in the blood flow to her brain. She was having a hard time talking and she wasn't sure where she was, but that improved after a few minutes and the doctor was certain she hadn't had a stroke. She was going to spend the night in ICU and if she was doing well in the morning, they would let her come home. When Shirley told me that she had a TIA, I became hysterical. Now that I'm taking Anatomy and Physiology classes, I knew that it was similar to a stroke, but not as bad as one and it's duration is short. But since I can't reach out and physically put my hands on her and know for myself, this has been very difficult for me. This year's birthday for me hasn't been fun at all. It's just been filled with fear about Mama. I'm so grateful to all of ya'll for all the well wishes and prayers for her. I'm sorry I was unable to get on the computer sooner. Trey was freaking out because I was crying so hard, so we went over to Richie's mom and dad's house til I calmed down enough to drive home. I will let everyone know something as soon as I hear from Shirley or Mama herself.I have to take Trey to school, but I will try to call Shirley in the morning. Thank you for being there for my sweet Mama. She means the world to me and I'm not ready to let her go be with my Daddy and Nannie just yet.
I'm glad the procedure is over and done with. Lets hope she has a good nights rest and is allowed to come home when she is ready too, and not a sec sooner. Please keep us posted as to how she is doing even after she does get home. Its morning here, so i will keep checking later in the day for word.
I am sending all my love to Glenda and her family and I hope she is well enough to come home, I am sorry about the TIA and can understand why you panicked but hopefully all will be fine and back to full health very soon, My dad made a good recovery and is doing well he just had to take it easy for a little while.
