Seen you can hang these in trees. Good pollinators -do not sting this type of bee. Seen them in Garden Supply catalog.
We have them in the stone work of our cottage. Thank goodness our walls are three foot thick. I may try to hang some of those hives from my trees in the hope they'll take up residence.
Hi KK-- Yes, Mason bees a pretty appealing. I saw some Mason bee huts in Acadia several summers back & I have been intending to make some ever since. Maybe I'll get to it this summer
I'm going to get some. Since we have farm field next to us. Will put them in trees not close to it. But putting up sign bee hives. So they will and can not spray .
I would wait until next year. They all die the first part of June and larvi tubes are usually hard to get this time of year.
Going to do more reading about them. Just got e-mail Garden Supply had them on sale. DH wants to put out bee hives. And have them out back. this cold winter killed off some friend hives.
