Had 4 Eastern Blue Birds at bird bath. Do not see them often here. Lot of farmers having calves . And Lucky ones have huge barns. And dry straw to put them in.

There are lots of pregnant ewes here that look as though their lambs will be born in the next few days. A pair of Great Tits are looking for places to nest and the dawn chorus has begun and fills the air every morning.

Skunks are out and about. Birds paired up seeking nesting sites. Days getting longer. Calves cavorting.

Ground frozen. Ice, snow imminent. Temps to single digits F. Lakes and streams icebound, or very constricted.

I'm confused, cantankerous, and getting disgusted.

The bald Eagle cam in Iowa. They are having hard time keeping their newly laid eggs warm. So hope it warms up for them. Me also + every one else.

Lots of spring here. Camellias and early rhodedrendrons are blooming. First little narcissus bloomed yesterday and more are almost ready. Snowdrops are finishing up.

Lots of things sprouting. And trees budding out. And the rabbits hopping around.
