I have had the white calla lilies for many years now, I always plant in pots so I don't have a hole to fill in the ground at the end of the season. I have to keep the bulbs in the basement for the winter...too cold here for them..

I found a sale at Lowe's in another town for a package of calla bulbs for only 50 cents each, I bought a number of them..they had the bright yellow ones...

    pink ones...

    ones called flame...

and ones that I call dark red...I do have to admit that these I bought as a plant at a nursery..

I just can't make up my mind which ones I like the best....How about you? I do like the ones that have the speckled leaves...Do you have any other colors? :)

    Callas over the years

    Hi,
How many years have you been planting your bulbs? Here in Ontario (zone 5) I have to plant mine each spring and dig them up in the fall. It seems that they bloom less and less each year. This year out of about 15 bulbs I have (so far) 2 pink blooms and no yellow. Any suggestions? Bulb booster plant food?

I have had the white calla for quite a few years and I think they have all grown. If they don't have a little eye on them or more than one, I don't use it. It has to look alive or starting to grow. They do multiply for me...the red black plant I just bought this spring just like all the other colors, the first year. I do use Miracle grow Bloom booster on them every couple weeks until they are all done blooming. What I like about callas is that they do not all bloom at once..I had some early white blooms and I am still getting them..I plant them next to one another in the pot and cover with about 2" of soil. I like a full pot of them..hopefully the other bulbs will multiply this season...Sherry

I don't believe there is anything more elegant than a calla lily. I only have white but it is increasing nicely each year. I LUST for that wine color one. :-D

I've had mine for 3 years now. I stored the bulbs without peat moss the first winter and got very few blooms. Lat year i packed them in peat moss for the winter and had tons of blooms this year. I have white, burgundy and darkish pink.
