Nope, not me. I might get decorations up around the middle of Dec....if I feel like it. I get tired of them in a very short period of time so putting them up just makes the two day holiday irritating instead of jolly.

Many houses locally are already decorated, some right after Halloween.

Me either. I like to keep Christmas 'special' so I put up decorations mid December and the tree the Friday before Christmas. I would get tired of it all if I did it any sooner. It all comes down New Years Day ... I feel it is bad luck to keep it up any longer.

We do minimal outside decorating--garland on the entry fence, swags on the barn fence gate, and a wreath on the door. Inside we have a collection of about 40 Nativity scenes from all over the world that we scatter all over the house (one from Guatemala has the Holy Family sitting outside a church with a cross on the top--don't think about that one too long) and we decorate the mantle and put up our real, fragrant, drop-needles-all-over tree about 10 days before Christmas and take it down on New Year's Day.
Most of the decorations are on cookies!

Not me, either. If the children want the tree up they can put it up. Beyond that, nothing here.

I'm with you Carolyn. Told the kids you put it up, you take it down. They hauled everything out of the attic last weekend. Can't get into spare bedroom there's so much. Also told them when it comes down it goes to their house or donated to someone else. They found 5 different trees and want to put all up. There goes my electric bill:(

I don't put anything Christmassy up until after the 16th of December as that's my daughter's birthday. However, I have a feeling that there will be lots of folks just anticipating when exactly you're going to start putting up your lights and decorationes Susie. You do such a wonderful job each year and I know many people appreciate the effort and the time you take to put on such a wonderful display. I look forward to seeing all you photographs each year so I hope you'll show everything to us this year. :-D

Fraid not. Apart from making my Christmas cake in late October I don't really consider anything remotely Christmassy until after my Birthday on the first of December.

SusieQ your decorations are pretty. I get tired even thinking about decorating for the holidays! We do much less now than when the kids were growing up. It's too early for me to think of Christmas; first we have to enjoy Thanksgiving!

I'm kind of anxious to put up our new tree. I bought it on clearance last year and haven't seen it out of the box  It won't go up until the 2nd week of December or there-abouts. I hate to use an artificial tree but with hubby's allergies...

SusieQ... your place is beautiful all decorated.
However... I'm one of those who put up minimal decorations probably about the 2nd week of December.
At my job at the newspaper, we start planning for Christmas around the middle of October. So by the time Thanksgiving rolls around... I'm already tired of looking at santas, snowmen and decorations.
But have no fear... I get "un-Scrooged" just in the Nick of time (pun intended) :-D

I kind of wish I had th efunds and energy to go all out with decorating, but I really dont. Weve never really done anything except the tree and a few knick knacks, but I might try to do a little more this year :) I got a new 9ft pre-lit tree earlier this year (on sale! $29, marked down from $300!!) and I cant wait to put it up :D

SuziQ,Your decorations are beautiful. We don't do anything inside anymore.Don't put up a tree inside because of wood stove.Hubby has trees decorated outside & lights here & there but in no hurry to turn them on.
We enjoy going out to look at lights & go to 2 or 3 different towns.
I haven't enjoyed Christmas since my parents passed & my only child moved away.I really find the season depressing. If I didn't have my pets & a greenhouse full of plants I would want to take an extended vacation .

Fun to see, and too much work to put up. If we don't get them up this week-end it doesn't get done with our work schedule and energy levels. Love driving through the neighborhoods that go all out. ;)

Cleaned out the basement of bears and moose and deer and other assorted large lighted yard decorations. Goodwill had a nice supplement to their Christmas section. Kept the string lights. Guess we are down-sizing.
