May you be as lucky as this woman who found hers after 17 years ... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...t-wearing-wedding-ring.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
I've never lost my wedding ring but I did have to have it cut off in hospital once. Lena was really lucky to find hers after so many years. For it to my around one of her carrots is totally amazing.
My mother almost lost my engagement ring, and I have found a wedding ring while walking along the Chesapeke. I hope one day to find the owner.
I lost mine a few years ago while I was planting flowers. I wanted to dig up the flowers to look for it but dr bought me a new one for our anniversary. I never did find the old one even when digging up the same flower beds the next year. dooley
Speaking of lost rings, I read about a Mr. James Lewis of Benton Harbor, Mich. who was fishing from a boat on Lake Michigan. He swatted at a fly that was pestering him and his class ring which was a little loose flew off his hand and landed in the water. He figured that was the last of that. About two years later he was again fishing from a boat on Lake Michigan. He caught a good size coho salmon. He took it home to clean it and while he was holding it down on a fish board, he cut into the fish and felt the knife hit something hard. It was his thumb. dr
Dr, I had to read that 2 times. YUK Silly. I have a story that is true. Grandpa was very poor and couldn't heat his house much so we always saved our long coats and gave them to him to use as blankets, in the 50's. He died in the 90's and my mom cleaned out his house and checked all the pockets of those coats as she threw them out. She found the 1 carrot diamond that fell out of her ring some 40 years before into her coat pocket. It was claimed on her insurance. The insurance company did not exist anymore and she asked me what she should do. I said "nothing". That diamond sat in that pocket laying on my grandpa for some 40 winters and no one ever found it. Hi Netty-- went to the link but could not see the ring on any of the carrots....so I googled this page and you can see the ring clearly at the top of the carrot on the picture. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... -gold.html
That's awesome Sjoerd! I knew I had seen a photo of the actual carrot but I couldn't find it when I made the post! Hey Dooley - maybe you will find YOUR ring around a carrot one day!
