No, I have not tried growing it. My son bought some once, and I did not care for it myself. Have you tasted it first ? If you like the flavor, it might be good to grow. It is a very tiny grain, and it seems like it would be labor intensive to harvest ? I wonder if the birds like to eat it, perhaps it would make good bird seed for me.

Growingpains asked about this grain several years ago...
    Has anyone grown Quinoa? Amaranth?
And just about this time last year Jerry was conducting a rice growing experiment and Barb mentioned that she has Quinoa in her pantry....I guess the experiment wasn't successful because the dicussion ended pretty quickly.
Does anyone know how to grow rice?

So I am guessing that no one else has grown it. Maybe you could find a bag of it in an oriental market to try to see if you like it enough to grow it.

I've grown quinoa in the past. That was about ten years ago. Really liked the color of the flower stalks. Made the garden beds showy. Each stalk had lots of seeds. I grew it for birds since we weren't crazy about the flavor of the seeds. It might be time to give it another try, since tastes change..
