I just ordered 32 sedums to start my collection. I am anxious for them to get here. I have a severe case of spring fever, so I ordered them early. They will still be dormant for awhile, but they are cold hardy fo my zone., so they will keep until I plant them.
Be sure to post photos of all those beauties. I am going to have more of them this year, I have a variety of planters that don't get watered enough to keep regular plants happy. I saw a large rack of them at a grocery store yesterday and my fingers started itching to pick up a pot or two or six.
Oh! The joy of succulents. Several years ago I had a wonderful collection of sedums. The few that escaped, and a few are potted. The lewisea especially has made a good sized clump of itself. Here is my garden photos http://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/album.php?user_id=5463&album_id=239&page=1&items_per_page=32. Now I have a nice variety of indoor succulents too.
Awesome pix. I can't wait. I went to Lowe's and Home Depot garden I just ordered some jovibarbas and semps. My spring fever is expensive Lol. I will try to posting when they come
Ms Kitty, You will really love them. I was noticing the pots of some I have pushed under a glass topped coffee table on the patio. They are looking kind of winter worn. I will have to freshen the soil in the pots soon. My favorite is a potted Autumn Joy. It's large size and pink flowers that cover the top later in the season look great by the back door. Cpt. Kirk has an entire row of them in his yard that were beautiful photos.
Hi. A lot of good attractive tough drought resistant plants amongst therm. Have had many in variety most of my gardening years. Particlartly like the Cobwebbed varieties of Semps and the bigger varieties of Sedum, these especially for their attraction to Butterflies. Lewisias I have tried many times but they just do not seen to like me, this in spite of striving to give them the conditions recommended for them. Syd.
I can grow most of the hardy semps or sedums outside but the cobwebbed ones will not make it through the winters on this mountain we live on.
