Does anyone have any suggestions for potted vegetables suitable for indoors. I live in an apartment and have made many failed attempts at anything other than herbs.

Right now i have tomatoes, chili's and sweet red peppers growing in containers in my kitchen. All have flowers on them, if they develop, well, guess i have to wait and see. I also bring my garlic in the house in about another month or so then back out in the spring...okay june here. I also just started some romain lettuce for the winter. Theres lots you can grow indoors.

Are you growing cherry tomatoes or the regular sized ones? I am a tomato addict and hate to eat the ones from the store in the winter time. I have never seen anyone do anything other than the cherry tomatoes inside though.

I grow green peppers, & okra inside, I do put them outside on some warm days to get natural sun light for a few hours though.

I LOL'd when I realized I wrote "warm days", 70 degree's is considered cold here.

I don't like the cherry tomatoes either and that is why I asked. How big do your tomato plants get? I have seen some of the bushy ones that I thought might work out in the house but the real tall ones I have had in my garden previously I dont know how I would handle them indoors.

Mine ended up to be about 10 ft tall. Thats because of lack of light. I didn't have the super bright lights in the lamps yet. But its really no problem, you can train your plants to grow how you want them. I had mine bent and tied to just about anything that was within range of where they sat. lol. The tomatoes themselves didn't get huge, but they did make a good sandwich size tomato. about the size of a tennis ball. But hey thats indoors. We all can't be lucky and have the outside, but i'm not complaining. I'm actually looking forward to experimenting during the really, really dark part of winter here and see how it goes.

Wow that is really awesome! I cannot imagine having a 10 foot tomato plant here inside unless I had it in the basement. I applaud you for having such a green thumb that you could be so successful with doing that inside!
