hi beswen. we're on the internet with wildblue, and we have dish for tv...after the analogue change, we couldn't get anything on the tv so had to do something.

we rent our dish and get service from wildblue for around $44 a month (since February this year). it is slightly faster than dialup. we have no cable out here for high speed. they make you sign up for at least 2 years. they give you a modem. the only problem we've had so far is that they charge us a fee of $96 if they have to come out and repair their equipment. there's a couple forums on the net if you google wildblue that are very helpful. one is here...

ouch glendann! we have hughesnet offered here too. got a year plus till our contract ends.

yes bswen, they had to install it here.

in the ten plus months we've had it, it's only broken down once...it was some part on the dish that broke and had to be replaced. 96 bucks was ridiculous. took the guy 15 minutes to fix. course, we live way in the sticks...but still... 50 bucks is a lot too!

the only other problem is that when there's a storm or snow, the connection slows or stops completely. usually cleaning off the dish helps.
