I have 2 dogs which I have written about before. Scooter the cairn terrier and Shadow the yellow labrador. We have a regular routine before they go to bed that they enjoy a lot.

Before bed they go outside for the last time of the day. When they come in they walk to the cupboard and sit and wait.

Here they are waiting patiently by the cupboard while my husband cuts up a banana for everyone. YES A BANANA...all of our dogs have enjoyed a couple pieces of a banana before bed every night.

After they get the last of their treat, they walk away and watch me eat my part of the banana, hoping I will share the part that I received. SORRY DOGGIES.....but a banana is just so big and I enjoy it too.

Is there anything that your pets do that you would like to share? Please add it here...I love animals. Anymore banana lovers here?

This is the only other treat we give them besides a small portion of a biscuit when we want them to walk into their kennel for bed or when we go away...

As soon as we get out of bed in the morning, Balder sneaks in. I took this pic when I came up to make the bed for the day.

When Balder goes out to help fertilize the farm, he comes back an always wants his treat, which is dried bread, he loves it! Its the crunch I think.

But when we go anywhere he has to go to, but he's not allowed to go in the boats because he gets seasick,,lol, poor guy. So he will sit an wait till I come back, an won't move until then.

Sherry how cute your guys are. My two German Shepherds get a dog biscuit after their last OUT of the night. Their favorite routine is first thing in the morning when I go out and whack tennis balls for them. They are crazy for fetch. I'm sitting here delaying with my coffee as long as possible. It's cold out there today! :)
Biita, my male and female Rotties died a few years back from old age. Your beautiful GUY is a great reminder of their happy lives> :stew1:

Balder is the baby, an is so spoiled, but listens so well. all i have to do is tell him to move an he well okay he just moves a paw maybe,,lol. but honestly he is a well trained dog,, and bananas,, he don't like them at all. i was surprised when you wrote bananas,, never heard of that,,lol. but then Balder loves brussel sprouts an broccoli... go figure huh,,lol.

Bethie Balder will be 7 in feb. so he's gettin up there but he still a puppy at heart. I would love to see your shepherds,, please please post.

The first is Prince. He's my boy, but he lays on his dads clothes and follows dad around alot. He's got a voice on him, quite the talkative one. When he's ready for attention in the morning, or his bowl needs re-filled, he's a non-stop chatter box. He'll follow you around nagging you until he's satisfied.
He also likes to try our food, when he can. He'll hear the scraping of the spoon on the bowl when the food is almost gone, and come running. I usually only let him try food you'd eat in a bowl - ice cream, milk from cereal, soup, etc.

The second is Dingo. He's daddy's boy. He eats breakfast, lunch and dinner (3 meals of dog food), though he'd eat so much more if you let him. After every meal his daddy eats, he gets a bite. So when we finish with lunch, he'll get the last bite of sandwich or whatever is most dog-friendly of the meal. Same with dinner.

Well, I love bananas, especially with peanut butter. Deputy (our 15 year old Yellow Lab) loves the peanut butter. I need to give him pills two times a day, and I use a dab of peanut butter with the pills attached. I stick it onto the roof of his mouth, and he spends the next 5 minutes licking and licking. I bet that I'm the only person that has to go to the bathroom cabinet to get the peanut butter. Deputy also loves the snow, he gets about 80% of his water by licking and eating the snow. I don't need to fill his water bowl nearly as often during the winter. He will beg to go out just about every hour during the day, and just go to the nearest snow pile and stand there licking and chewing. I have often wondered if dogs get those awful headaches after too much of something cold, as we do. His internal clock is extremely accurate, he eats at noon and 5:00 PM and he will wake up from a sound sleep and beg for his meal within minutes of the scheduled time. He eats in the morning too, but that happens when I get up, and that varies from day to day. If I sleep too late, he will find a way to wake me so that he can get fed.

    So many lovely animals!

Our cats get a special treat for breakfast and evening meal. They follow us around until they've had their special serving.

Snuske, the long-haired one, likes to suck my ear while I watch TV, and will accompany me to bed every evening. Lord Paint likes to suck on a blanket or on whatever sweater I'm knitting.

I don't willingly spoil them, but they're cats.

    Here's Snuske:

My dogs love peanut butter too and dry cheerios. They just don't get as much of that stuff as they do the bananas every night.

Such beautiful cats and dogs everyone has..
