The news report of flooding in Queensland and New South Wales, and thousands of people are evacuated. It seems that the rain and flooding will go on, and that more people will be evacuated.

So, are our Australians and families alright I wonder?

Droopy, I saw the same thing in the paper this morning. All we can do is hope that all our friends there are all right, and that the flood waters recede quickly.
Sure would be nice to hear from some of the Aussies!

Hi everyone, we live in New South Wales on the east coast, the flooding is serious for the people living further west. The rainy season or monsoon is happening further north, cyclones forming out to sea etc. which always brings heavy tropical rains and the mega mass of water travels the quickest way south and is no respecter of houses or other property. Some small towns are isolated and several have been evacuated, with high tides on the coast and heavy rains the water can not get away quickly and then there is a flood.
Where we are living we are safe and look forward to the rains, we are on a hill overlooking the sea so we are fortunate, at the lower levels here it was a bit damp and the small creeks rose which blocked our road to the town centre but other than that we are alright, about 93f. today..too hot for gardening!
Thankyou for caring about us,it is nice to know someone is watching out for you.

Chocolate, Glad you are OK. I sure hope everyone else is, too. Flooding can be so dangerous. Not just the water itself...it's the wildlife it forces to higher ground .

I'm so glad you and yours are safe chocolate. :stew2: I hope the flooding recedes soon, and that the damage done won't be too big.
