( photo / image / picture from heather0315's Garden ) I am wondering is this pretty little thing is a type of weed or an actual flower. When we moved into our house here in TX, everything was mostly dead in the flower beds in the front. I've weeded everything that looked like weeds and left only the plants that I knew were not. We've been watering for a while and these pretty little flowers started popping up! I am not sure what they are.
Heather, I think they are white rain lilies (Zephyranthes candida). They will appear a few days after a rain, bloom, and then disappear after two or three days. I recently posted a picture of our orange ones http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i265/gardenstew/pic-of-the-month/oct-13/5.jpg that appear in the fall.
I was just searching around the site some and found some pictures of other ones! They are so pretty! Do you happen to know if they do well being potted? Also, do they need full sun? And now thinking about it, they did come up after a rain storm that we had recently!
I have some that recently popped up too... and they are in mostly shade. I don't think they really care because someone else has some in the full sun.
I'm thinking ..... click on the blue links for more photos to see if it looks like yours. http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result ... lant=NOBI2 Nothoscordum bivalve (Crowpoison, False Garlic)
