Yes, it's true. I am a stalker and a pitiful one at best.

I could not help myself. On the coldest day that we have had so far, I went to a favorite garden nursery today in hopes of seeing some plant that could come home with me and be loved.

Yes, I know that it is far too early to be in the nursery and I saw exactly what I knew I would... nothing of interest.

I was greeted by a nice fellow, "We are in a slow period just waiting for the new shipments to come in."

A glimmer of hope "When? When will the new shipments of anything be in?"

    "FEBRUARY"

I knew that February would be the answer and I think he stretched the truth, it will be more like March before any real plants will be in.

But, the stalker will not be deterred. I will be keeping an eye out for the first shipments and then my scheming and planning will begin. I have a few ideas already in mind, but, when I see the new flowers of spring, my plans will be put into action.

Do you try to get the first plants of the season? Do you try to get a new, interesting plant just released for 2008? Is there one specific plant that you are dying to get your hands on in 2008?

:D Oh, don't I recognize myself in your story! The nurseries are all closed during winter, but the online shops are not! So I surf around and keep my eyes open for anything of interest. And who am I trying to fool? Everything is of interest! I want an orchid, a tibeticum. Other than that, I always want something nice and colourful.

I'm having severe withdrawal symptoms here. My hands are itching and my eyes are sore and red from searching in the garden centres and nurseries!! I MUST have two dwarf red acers as soon as they are available or I'll have to check in to rehab!! I can't stand not being able to just pop out and buy plants whenevr I want to. :(

I guess I would be a stalker if there were any Garden Centers open here during the winter. I will have to wait until at least the end of April before I can start stalking.

I love the acers and they go fast when they are out in the nurseries.

Looking at floral arrangement in the florist shop is a top rank stalking move. Way to go! Some one posted that their Wal-Mart has a large selection of bulbs in Texas. I immediately ran to my Wal-Mart to look for some bulbs because I want a good bit of Liatris (over look spelling). There was nothing there yet but a nice selection of seeds that I went through for at least 30 minutes. I thought about starting seedlings indoors this year. Stay tuned.

Appreciate the new stalking move (smile).
