Fabulous. Sadly a lot of my Arisaemas seem to have been killed this winter.
Not that I have ever had that one though.

My Arisaemas seems to have been killed by the freezing temperatures we had last winter. :( I've never seen such a beautiful, and unusual, one as yours though. I'd love to have something like that in my garden.

    WOW. nice!
    In France, huh?
I have two Arisaema griffithii that I planted last summer in the garden - shade and wet but nothing coming up yet... I was running out of patience about a few weeks ago and lifted one, and looked ok. Not rotten, no roots, just the corm and two small ones. I tore off the small ones and potted up.
When will my arisaemas show signs of life???
    Any idea?
Roland, I see yours was in a pot. Inside or outside during the winter? Well, I don't know how cold it gets in France in winter...
This is the leaf, last year in JUNE... Should I be more patient???

I keep mine always free of frost in pots
Till I have enough to test
if they are hardy in the garden or not

many hardy plants in the garden aren't hardy in pots

    most Arisaema hate wet feet
in the winter if they are dormant
    and arrive late

    my Arisaema griffithii flowered
when the bulb was 5 cm diameter

in normal winter it's here -8ºC sometimes -13ºC
the record here at home -18ºC

    Wow. Thanks Roland.
Maybe I did a mistake or not, planting them out in the garden.
They were quite expensive, only two but I read somewhere they are quite hardy.
As I told you, a few weeks ago, after the cold winter, I checked one...and it looked OK. not rotten, but no roots at all!
I will let you know if any leaves come up!

    some are very hardy
    other hardly
    so control very well
    before you plant them outside
    special where you live
    it can be cold
    if I remember well
