Got a pic of an Arizona Prickle Poppy (Argemone munita, also called the Cowboy's Fried Egg) growing behind the library.

I honestly never knew there was such a thing as an Arizona Prickle Poppy but being a poppy fan, and a lover of white flowers, makes me drool as soon as I look at your photograph Dan. How I wish I could grow those gorgeous flowers here. Are they cultivated or do they simply grow wild?

Some people put them into desert landscaping, but the state classifies them as a weed.

Here's a shot of the whole plant.

Well I'd have a garden full of those weeds any day Dan!! I've been searching for white poppies for ages now and finally picked up a potful in Holland. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll bloom well for me and come back year after year.

BTW - you can buy them, or seeds, on the internet. Do a Google search for the species name and look around.

It's very invasive. Be sure you keep it contained or you will end up with them everywhere. Dooley
