Just a few of the flowers that are blooming at the moment. My first fuchsia. White robin. Some of my wild flowers. These poppies are called Ladybird and were scarlet and black when they first flowered. However, for the last two years they have been pink. Little alpines. First miniature rose. Clematis. Some lavanders. Various iris. Lastly one of my more unusual flowers - a cobra lily.
Oh, I want lavender like yours. I had some once but it died when I tried to move it when we came here. Now, I just have a common type. I really like the fuchsia too. You have such beautiful flowers. Dooley
Eileen, gorgeous blooms in your yard, really like the Fushia colors. Are those plants you brought home from Holland? I keep forgetting to pick up a Hidcote Lavender like yours, I have a common and three French. I love lavender. White Robin, never heard of that. Is there another name attached to it. I really need to fill in some blank spots with white and black flowers.
Eileen, Could the PH of the soil affect/effect the color of the Poppies? I've heard/read that the PH affects/effects the color of the flowers on Hydrangea and Lantana. I sort of believe that but I've never run any experiments to prove or disprove. Hank

Toni the white robin was only bred last year and isn't widely available yet. I got it from a stall at the Edinburgh Flower show. It took quite a while to persuade the woman on the stall to let me buy one as they were really only for show purposes. She wasn't sure that it would re-grow this year so I haven't a clue if she's given it a Latin name yet. I bought a small clump and have e.mailed her to let her know that mine has more than tripled in size. I'm really pleased with it because, as you know, I love white flowers. :-D Hank, once again, this poppy was a plant I bought at the Edinburgh Flower Show. I'm really disappointed with it as it should have come back scarlet and black - at least that's what the seller told me it would do. I asked about the PH it needed and what conditions it liked etc. She said it was a 'pure bred' so it didn't matter it would always be red. Mmmmmmm funniest shade of red I've ever seen!!!!
Kimmie I'm lucky enough to live in an area that was dedicated to farmland for centuries. (From the 1100's in fact.) The soil is perfect here and needs very little added to it. There's not much that I plant that doesn't grow well for me. :-D I use my own compost when anything needs fed as I'm an organic gardener. The only other things I need to do is water the ground if it gets too dry and mulch it for the winter.
What lovely flowers in your garden. Some of these are my favourite, such as the Clematis, Irises and Fuschia, which I also have in my garden.
WOW eileen! :-o You have awesome flowers. I love the fuchsia, I have some but not that pretty. And those poppies,mmmmmmmmmmm yummy! do you have any tips for those? I've never been able to get them to grow. It could be Memphis though. Jo
