Several weeks ago my honey and I went on an art drive in our area. Several business had special events going on. There was several apple orchards, a small sheep farm with some arts and crafts, several restaurants, a dairy goat farm, and a neat historic home.
We only visited a few places as there where so many people you had a hard time finding a place to park. Two places where our favorites.
The Apple orchard that had freshly made apple cinnamon donuts. They where still warm. YUMMY!
The next one was the dairy goat farm. It was unbelievable the set up they had. The milking parlor was a mini version of a cattle milking parlor. No pic's again.
They have over 100 goats they milk with at least 6 different breeds they raise. In the nursery they had over 30 baby goats. Some sleeping, some running around playing. They where so cute. Of course I did not take a pic of them. Dahhh. So here are a few of the pic's I did take.

I like the goat farm, it is really big and spacious unlike the goat farms here. I wonder with all those goat milk do they make goat cheese?

That's an impressive goat shed. It looks light and airy with plenty of space for the animals to move around.

I liked the goat and house foto's. It was interesting to read the historical text on the metal sign.
Wisconsin is known for cheese, right?

That's a long goat shed. Almost made me dizzy! It's a shame you didn't get kid goat photos Tooty but I'm appreciative of the ones you did. Thank you for posting them!

Yumm! Apple cinnamon donuts..I can almost taste them! Were you able to take a tour inside the Timm house? The outside is so well maintained that I imagine the inside would be great also.
I've never seen a goat shed before. I realize that this was open for a tour but I wonder if it is kept that clean all the time? The large cow dairy farms around here are horrible. It looks like you and your honey had a good time.

KK Ng-yes they do make their own goat cheese. Actually the also make a goat milk and cows milk blend cheese as well. They also make goat milk Ice Cream. But I was not brave enough to taste it.

Eileen-it was pretty impressive. I was surprised to see so many goats.

SJoerd- yes Wisconsin is know for it's cheese making. Thanks for asking.

Frank I to once again could kick myself for not getting all those kids on a picture. I will have to go back there and take a few more photo's.

2ofus-Yes those donuts where very yummy and warm to boot. Yes we did take a tour inside the Timm house. Photo's where not permitted. It was so gorgeous. They actually had a company remake the original wallpaper that was on the different rooms. I loved all the wide woodwork. Very victorian. Drool, Drool.

From what we saw I do believe that the goats where kept that clean. One thing about goats is that they poop like a deer. No runny loose crap to mess things up. I too hate those big dairy operations. You can not even call them farms. They are just cattle milking companies. So sad. The cows do not even get to go outside and send all their life indoors.
