Well its not the midnight sun yet, but you can see what I mean when I say theres no longer any darkness now. This is as dark as it gets, unless its raining! The sun doesn't actually set now at all. It goes about less than half way down the horizon then back up. In a week or so it will be up all the time. May 28, starts the actual progress of the midnight sun, leading to the height on Summer Solstice in June. Then it will take its slow decent down again. So here we are,, as close to a sunset as we can get now.

This one turned out blurry but its the actual sunset, before a few minutes later it started back up again.

So there you have it, almost midnight sun, and one of the lasts of our sunsets for a few months.

Your photos are gorgeous Biita, and I suddenly understood how you manage to live up there. It's strange, I feel like you only just showed the very first sunrise for months. How time flies!

Gorgeous *drools* I couldn't live there all the time (I hate cold) but I think I could live there for one year just to experience that beauty :)

How interesting that it won't get dark now for you. I've never experienced that. Those pics are so beautiful Biita. Such wonderful colors. Thanks so much for sharing.

Those were great to see. They illustrate what you ment about the midnight sun perfectly.
I reckon everyone likes a pretty sunset. They're romantic.

Great pictures. My friends in Alaska are enjoying the longer days, too. I bet you get a lot of gardening done!
