I finally figured out the macro lens, so here we go! :-D Poor monarch, wrong place at the wrong time. Another Dahlia Butterfly that I should know the name of... Even Sam had to get involved.

I believe the unfortunate butterfly is a painted lady butterfly, not a monarch. The yellow one is a yellow swallowtail, I believe.
Poor butterfly any way, that sure is a pretty spider though. I'll have my wife look it up, she likes spiders and snakes. We always just called them garden spiders.
