This fall has had ups and downs, a few frosts and then torrential rain. This weekend has been above seasonal temperatures so I went out with my camera. You can definitely tell that autumn is here ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) And while some things are done, I think the garden still has quite a bit of color. ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) There are many bees out today, enjoying the warm weather. ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) There are many plants that are re-rejuvenated with the cooler weather. The Dahlia's are putting out lots of new blooms. This one is my favorite ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) The Hosta's seem a little confused - this one is sending out new blooms ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) After a frost warning a few weeks back, I picked all the green tomatoes. This plant just isn't ready to give up yet ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) This Lady's Mantle is sending out new blooms too ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) A Nicotiana volunteer? ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) A new Poppy ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) This sunflower hasn't even bloomed yet! ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) New Rose blooms opening too ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) A planter I just haven't had the heart to empty yet ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) I hope the weather continues to stay nice. My garden and I just aren't ready for the cold weather yet
Gosh Netty when I saw the first photograph I thought - yep autumn has reached Netty. However, after seeing all the rest I've changed my mind and think summer is trying very hard to keep those frosts away. What fantastic colour you have in your garden and I'm turning green with envy as autumn found my garden and has decided to stay.
You know Netty--through the years, I have so enjoyed seeing the blooms in your garden/yard.'This "last tango" that is taking place in your garden at the moment is a cracking display of colour and exotica. Gad miss--a hosta blooming in oktober! Some of the other pics are quite interesting, in no small part because of the lighting that you selected. It is such a pleasure to see what you have on offer this time. Well done, you.
Wow... your garden sure doesn't want to quit this year, huh? :-D What is that second photo of? And that container that you don't want to empty... leave it alone some more! It's gorgeous (just like the rest of your gardens)
Thanks all! I think that summer is desperately trying to hold on, and I'm OK with that. I've never really liked cold weather ...
Beautiful pictures...I wonder if dahlias would bloom in a container? Thank you for the tour of all your beauties... It made me sad to empty most of my containers, I saved enough for the bees until they quit coming.
Beautiful colours Netty,..except for the first picture you would never guess it was Autumn,..it surely looks like Summer wants to remain with you.
That Poppy must be a volunteer from the Papaver paeoniflorum that I grew last year. I must remember to save some seeds!
