If I upload a photo to my garden, will it automatically be the right size to use for an avatar? Thank you!

It wasn't for me, I had to keep resizing the photo until it became a tiny black square, then I could upload it, but I didn't want a black square, lol.

I did read the How To and some past posts on avatars. They were sort of helpful... Admitedly, I'm a little tech-backwards. I don't know how to resize a photo.... sounds like I need to use a photo application like Photobucket? I will have to work on it... have no experience with Photobucket so here is a new adventure?

PS -- Toni and Flower Freak -- where (or what?) did you resize your photo?

Hi daisybeans there is a good site for creating an avatar here:
    http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/
Enter 128 into the "Set the Avatar Size" box before resizing the image and the image you get can then be uploaded as your avatar here :)

I originally used Windows Paint, but I think the picture had to many pixels to work properly. So I just went to one of the sites on Franks How-to post.

Ah, excellent help Frank! Easy to resize it. Now will test. Not the exact photo I want to use but the flower I really want has not yet bloomed!! Stay tuned. Thank you very much Frank.

Thanks Jon. BTW, it was really easy to resize the photo using the site Frank suggested. Took all of a minute to figure it out -- even ME!

Thanks Eileen and everyone. You all are just so supportive, it makes me smile every day. I appreciate it. I'm not so technically savvy so I was putting it off, I must admit. Yay!

There was a program that came with Microsoft office. use the start button, and under programs find Microsoft Office highlight it and in the new window there is a file named Microsoft Office tools, under that file there is Microsoft office Picture Manager. That program has an easy system to use to resize pictures to many different sizes.
