I just got the gas bill for Jan. On the bill is a graph of the daily average temperature of last year and this year. this year was 7 degrees colder on average than last year. That is a huge difference.
Carolyn, this has been the coldest winter in our area since 1909. We set a record of 52 days (so far) below freezing, with expectations of more sub-freezing days this week. Seven degrees colder is a huge difference! I hope you can stay warm, and that the weather gets better for all of us!
Well Jane, I am ready for some climate change or global warming...whatever it is now being called. Otherwise I will have to live in my greenhouses all Summer long....It is cold up here again. In the low zeros at nighttime all week long, again!
That's CHILLY!.....annnnnd expensive too. It looks as if the weather patterns are becoming more and more erratic and thus unpredictable. BTW--You have a new avatar, I see. It looks attractive and almost good enough to eat! You luv them berries, dont'cha. How are things in your tunnels doing?
Hi S, About that avatar...caity deleted mine trying to do something for me and I had to go find a new one. This was as close as I could find. Tunnels are about empty right now. The only thing growing in the one is 3 bunnies who are residing in there for the winter. The little greenhouse up here on the house is getting full in anticipation of spring....come on Spring! It has been the cold here all winter long. For Jan. I counted the actual days or nights above freezing and it was 10 days/night temps above freezing and 4 nights at freezing and the rest below freezing and some of them were really cold. Every night this week is hovering around zero. Thankfully we burn wood to heat the house, but we do have a gas furnace that keeps kicking on to keep the temperature up close to 68 in here. So, our bill hasn't been as bad as most peoples.
