I am a little light duty in the garden but I can still smoke. I used Royal Oak charcoal and Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. The temp was at 225 to 255deg . for 4 1/2 hours and 300+deg. for 1 1/2 hours. OH I used the smoker in my journal. ( photo / image / picture from jbest123's Garden ) This photo is finished ribs, notice the pink halo. Dinner is over and I won’t be able to move for a couple of hours. ( photo / image / picture from jbest123's Garden )
Oh yeah, in Texas we call that "pink halo" a smoke ring, and it is the badge of a great smoke master! Sweet Baby Ray's is the absolute best! Did you use the honey or the regular? When it gets cooler we pull out our barbecue that has a two-sided grill, put some water-soaked mesquite in one side, and lay out the ribs over charcoal on the other. Did you use a rub first, or just put the ribs on the grill (ahem) naked?
I used the regular SBR but will give the honey a try. The ribs were naked but will use a rub next time. john
I love it every way. You can make them any way you can think of and I will eat them, with pleasure. Just don't forget to invite me.... :-D :-D :-D :-D
