It's 21* outside and the blue bird babies picked today to learn to fly. Pictures taking through screened window. Mama is setting on the post shivering and cussing them out. Well, that mom is having her brood late. I wondered how many broods(clutches) a female Bluebird can have in a year. Wow, up to 4 broods. No wonder there us a clutch learning to fly in January. GO MOM!! Jerry Anti-icing for bird wings before takeoff?
Isn't that just like kids--pick the absolute worst time to do something! Birds are very resilient, and those babies will learn to fly and also to fluff up!
I was really hoping you wouldn't miss all the babies leaving the nest Donna. You've done us proud with your photographs. Thank you. I've never seen fledglings this early in the year before.
