I raked the backyard gardens this morning and this afternoon I planted them. Along the fence Kentucky Wonder pole beans and in the small section which has some shade the snap peas. In the small section, I also planted lettuce, swiss chard and carrots. Just short rows as it's getting late for those things. I also planted a short row of bush beans. In the large garden I planted zucchini in hills, 4 of those and 4 hills of yellow summer squash. I still have the middle of this space so I may divide the tomatoes and plant a few of them back there. I water everything good and I'm done for today. Maybe tomorrow I will tackle the front yard gardens. dooley
I'm a bit jealous Dooley as our ground is still frozen and I can't get anything planted up yet. I hope everything you've put into your garden thrives for you.
Me too Dooley. Been trying to get mine in the ground. So far, 7 sixpacks of tomatoes and equal amount to go. Lettuce and spinach in,, carrots & cucumber in, three sixpacks cabbage in,,broccoli in,, at thats just first 4 rows. Hasn`t our weather been nice for gardening ?
Way to go Dooley, Oh I am really jealous that you are so far along whilest I still languish in the last throws of winter. Never mind. Good luck with your front gardens now...you're on a roll.
I planted mine about the same time, but the pole beans still haven't come up. I think it was too early and will re-plant. I'm thinking the days were still too short. Have your beans germinated?
My beans are about 6 to 8 inches high now and looking good. I planted sugar snap peas at the same time and they are growing faster and starting to climb the fence. I may give them a little help there. dooley
