Theres a line of storms that came through Missouri last night and tornados killed 9 people and injured 16. They are headed our way and should hit about noontime or in about an hour. The one good thing is they are starting to break up some, so may not be as bad as what Missouri got. It looks like they may barely clip us or go south of us. Wish me luck! Will let you know what happens if I have a computer left!

Best of luck Capt. Take care of you and yours. Strap the computer to yourself so it won't go anywhere!

Just been watching the aftermath of the storms in Missouri on the news here CK. I sincerely hope that when the tornadoes hit your area there's no severe damage and no loss of life.
Please keep yourself safe won't you and get in touch with us as soon as you can. My thoughts are with you all there.

Well the storms have come and gone! They had weakened and all we got was a little rain. Maybe a 1/4 inch. No tornados or even strong winds. It's supposed to turn cold tonight with snow showers on Tues. Big change from the near 70F we had today!

What a difference a day makes! 24 hrs. ago it was 70F. Now it's 30 F with snow showers. The snow has stopped for a while and we are getting a little sun, but it's not warming up at all.

The rain has actually stopped here for the time being!! :D Hope it stays like this tomorrow so that I can, at last, get some work done in the garden. Much milder here too which is a nice change.

Hi Capt,Glad to hear the storm missed you , this might seem like a stupid question but not having any experiance of tornados here goes ! :?: has anyone ever been pulled up by one ? What sort of speeds do they get up to ? Also on a different note I saw on the BBC news last night some British troops training up in the Artic circle ,,they had some pretty impressive kit , I think you said earlier you trained there . 8) Bugs

Yes Bugs people do get pulled up by them, along with cars, trucks and even houses in the Force 5 ones. The big ones can get as fast as 200 mph or more. One that was in Missouri this past weekend was 1/2 mile wide at it's base and was on the ground for about 24 miles. Not something you want to fool around with. Yes I went through the Canadian Forces Arctic survival course in 1974. That is not for the faint at heart either. Spent 10 days in an igloo which we built ourselves. It was a 2 man igloo and I was paired of with a Canadian Mounty. If it hadn't been for his collection of Playboy magazines I would have been bored!
