Just talked to Glenda and we are both safe and sound. Had very bad weather tonight (why does it always come after dark ????) in Central on over to East Texas. Strong straight line winds, a few unconfirmed tornadoes, hail, and hard rain. Glenda got on Garden Gumbo to let them know she was OK, and it started lightening again, so she turned her computer off for the night. So thought I would let the Stew know we are alright, thank you Lord :)

Wow glad both of you are doing okay. I remember that weather from living in Alabama,, was not fun at all.

We just had a few days ago, a full hurricane with freezing rain an snow, then after that hit, we got hit with two lesser storms. I thought for sure our home was going to end up in Sweden. the wind was wicked fierce. this went on for 2 nights an on the 3rd day it finally let up.

Kuntry Gal & Glendann: I am so glad you both are safe and sound, and those evil  tornadoes moved out . . . There has been quite a bit of devastation this year.

I'm glad you are both OK. That must have been very unnerving to say the least!

I'm glad you're safe and sound. I'm no fan of extreme weather, kind of never get used to it, even though it occurs quite often.

I think that the front has now arrived in Wisconsin, but we're getting snow, snow, snow. It's really coming down now, and we may get up to 12 inches with lots of blowing snow. The birds are really busy at my feeders this morning, and I think that's a sign that we're in for something big. I'm prepared...hauled more wood yesterday, and shoveled off my roof and decks. It's a beautiful site out my window and I'm loving it!

I'd rather deal with the snow than the tornadoes. We get them here too, and we've lost several large pine trees due to them in the last few years. Our tornado season isn't until summer, so I'll enjoy the snow for now. Glad you made it through this last storm safe and sound.

Sure glad to hear you two are o.k.
As kaseylib was saying, though here in Michigan we have had freezing rain over nite. Most of our trees have ice hanging on them. The snow will be moving in later today.

Kasey, I would love to see snow rather than have to clean out a closet to climb into!! Glenda and I are in 'tornado alley' and it is very unsettling. I have been in two already, and I don't care to be part of another. Like I said in the original post, the bad weather seems to always hit my area (Lufkin) after dark. It is one thing if you can see what's coming

Thanks for everyones thoughts and concern ;)

I'm glad you're ok! How scary!

Bad weather in the dark is so scary. Seems every time we gets floods, it's also in the dark.

I can really relate to the bad weather at nighttime...a few years ago when my folks were still living, there were evening tornado warnings for our area. So we went to pick up my 80+ year old folks who lived in a summer cottage just down the way because they didn't have a basement there.

My wonderful husband managed to get them both down our stairs and into our basement (not an easy task). We all hovered there for over an hour waiting for the storm to hit, and it hit hard. It was dark, so we couldn't see anything except the intense lightening and the driving rain on the windows. We heard one crack after another and a few large booms. One of those booms was our 100 foot tall pine tree that was uprooted and fell down in the yard. Luckily this one was planted on the outskirts of our property and not near the house, but we have several within feet of our home. It was one of the scariest storms I've ever experienced, and I remember it like it was yesterday.

That does sound like it would put the memory on the 'front burner'. Too bad all days can't be sunny (like it is today)and mild. But God knows best... that way we appreciate days like today ;)

Thanks everyone for your concern.Toni is in this alley too.I also have worried about Budagardener and WtTexasDaddy.I dont think it got that far toward San Antonio and Austin. The cold front stopped the tornados but one was sighted about 22 miles from College Station/Bryan area but hit the cold front.Thank goodness as I would have been in line with it.Cajunbelle and family are ok .They only got a small amount of rain.It by passed them
farther south of them got bunches of rain.
