Has anyone had any luck with the baggie method? I tried it with my Moon flower seeds and had the baggies in my car.. I think I cooked them though it got a little too hot in there...

The baggie method works okay, but not in the sunshine. You need to have it vented so it doesn't cook the seeds. Your car is probably way to hot on a sunny day. Most seeds don't need it (the soil) to be more than 80 degrees to germinate. I have cooked my seeds in the greenhouse on a really sunny day with the cover on the flat. Oops. That can get kind of expensive. there are a few exceptions such as the sweetpeas, they like cool soil to germinate in.

Thanks. I think it was too hot too.. I remember years ago being told to put them there and it will speed things up.. but it was too hot! I have not had any luck with Moon flower seeds, which is what these were...

I have some of those seeds. I'll toss them in some mix and see if they grow. I'll let you know if they come up or not. I haven't tried them even though I bought them. I seem to keep running out of space in the greenhouse for piddly stuff.
