Hi, Is it me or are there very few posts about balcony plants? I am hoping to get a balcony and would love to see pictures and share tips and tricks with others. What type of plants do well? Which don't etcetera. Here's what we hope to get by the way.. as you can see it is tiny but I am already loving it! Think will put some Hedera on the little ledge with maybe some bulbs or maybe Hortensia ;-) Any tips?

It's actually called a "tea for two' balcony. Believe me, without any outside space now, even this tiny balcony brings tears to my eyes ;-)

I don't have a balcony but yours is beautiful with the scroll work and curves. Is that you looking at us in the second picture?

    No...
Unfortunately these are just pictures of the type of balcony we hope to be getting. We don't have anything yet.

This is what we have now:

As you can see on the left, we just have a french balcony/iron bars behind a door :-(

I really sympathize, kume. Being without any outdoor space would drive me around the bend in no time flat. I don't do much balcony planting, only a planter out front for May 17th, and maybe one or two in the back, so I'm of no use to you there.

It is a very pretty balcony indeed. I would be tempted to grow annual climbers through the bars, like a morning glory, and perhaps something a little more permanent like a clematis or rose. I would also want a large clay pot with some herbs in. So when do you hope to have the balcony installed??

I'll keep everything crossed for you in the hope that the Bureau of Monuments allows you to have the balcony you want. Good luck. :stew1:

Good news indeed! :D I've been thinking a lot about you and your balcony lately. I really, really hope they'll give you the go-ahead. I'm crossing everything too. (But not the index fingers, though, since I need to write a bit on here. :D)
