Had a full and busy weekend both in the conservatory, which needs a few repairs, and in the garden. Also, a local mailorder plant company had an open day plant sale, they do that periodically to get rid of excess plants and plants that are to large to mail, so 10 plants for £15 instead of each plant costing between £3 and £6, how could a girl resist. I came home with a lupin, a red oriental poppy and an apricot one, 2 different Rheums, verbascum, something begining with E, and I can't for the life of me remember it's name , rudbeckia greenwizard, helenium and something else which I can't remember. AAGGHH! Honestly, I think my brain has gone to moosh. hey ho, they are all in and the garden is begining to really come to life. This is really a nice variety of plants you have there. You know, Emma--in the second tulip piccy from the top I see what looks like an animal's face. Wot thuh heow izzat, anywayz?! You had a good day at the mail order house, didn't you. --makes me greeeen wif envy.
Gosh EJ - 10 plants for £15 - not bad at all!! I love it when you can get healthy plants at bargain prices. I realy enjoyed your photogrphs especially the white and peachy coloured tulips. I planted white tulip bulbs last year but they've turned out to be red and pink. :-| My bleeding heart is in bud so will soon be looking as good as yours and the bluebells are flowering here too. :-D
Very nice blooms, I like the unfurling fern. I am also curious about the little face behind the tulips.
Crikey you guys have good eyes. it is a little dog statue thingy which is daughter number ones. During the summer, you don't see him as he is tucked away in the middle of a border, but as winter sets in, he sits loud and proud and makes her smile.
I had to go back and look for the little face! How cute! I hope my Kerria blooms this year. It hasn't for 2 years
