My music taste ranges from jazz of all eras to mostly vintage pop and some country and western. I've two vinyl jukeboxes with examples 50/60/70/80s pop, jazz standards and a lot of Motown and similar, from the sixties. I've also a few thousand mp3s including a file with a couple hundred recordings of girls and girl groups of the sixties. Lately I've been adding to my collection of music of mp3 downloads from YouTube. I was familiar with a few of the recordings of this young lady, as she was, back in the sixties. She made a great number of records. But she had few successful ones, so I doubt if many would be aware of her. I think she has a fantastic voice. This is one of her songs she wrote and recorded. It was covered by Yvonne Elliman in the seventies. Barbara was one of several who were very versitile. I thought her version of this timeless classic was excellent Here's a couple more from that era by different girls who are probably just as unfamiliar. But they had I think much better voices than many of today's contemporary singers with their "auto-tube" and studio electronic enhansements and who think "shouting"and a lot of repetitions of a couple of bars is musical.
