This is basil the pig and he has some flowers. Yesterday I was sitting out in the beautiful weather and a yellow butterfly came fluttering past and stopped to sample the flowers. I couldn't get a picture of it flying or with it's wings open but I did get a picture of it.

I also got a picture of the butterfly and the flowers.

I found a narcissus blooming out by the road. It's the first one I've seen here so I took a picture of it, too. It's only about an inch across. I hope the cold doesn't make it die.

How lovely the yellow butterfly is against the red and pink flowers and the terracotta pig is just right to display them all.

I'm hoping it won't be too long until the first spring flowers begin to appear in my garden. I'm certainly ready for a bit of colour outdoors again.

I like Basil and his blooms, and it seems your butterfly likes them too. :D Your narcissus is very pretty. They can bloom through the snow here, I think they're tough little plants.

How nice to see that beautiful butterfly on this cold December day. It really does look lovely against the blooms of the dianthus. No wonder Basil is smiling :-D Lovely photos of the narcissus :stew2:

EJ, that is how Basil got his name. The first year that I had him I grew basil in him. He just wasn't big enough to hold it. dooley

Thank you for the blooms and the butterfly. Our high today is about 3* and our windchills are -14 when I got up. So no flowers here for a long time...
