I was out working on the front deck this morning and 2 hummers kept buzzing me. It was 2 females fighting over the feeder. This went on for 15 or 20 minutes.

Geeze they're really going at it aren't they? I hope they both managed to get their share once they'd stop battling.

Yep it feeds 8, but they are sooooo territorial it's not funny. In the spring I had 2 feeders out and the male was trying to keep the rest from both of them. Like to wore himself ragged. But the gals always outsmart him. One gal will fly in and he will chase her off. While he is busy chasing her, the other one sneaks in and eats. Then they change. It's really funny to watch them. I think they are getting ready to migrate. They have realy been eating a lot the past couple of days.

    That's been happening here too!
It doesn't seem to matter how many feeders I have out, they still fight!

Good photo! Our hummingbirds don't share well, either. When one is at the Turk's Cap getting nectar, another will buzz it and scare it off. They also have arguments over the nectar feeders we have. We started with one feeder, ended up with three, and now know that however many feeders you put out, the number of hummingbirds increases exponentially.
Have you heard them as they buzz by?

Yes, they sound like a bunch of angry bumble bees. I usually hear them before I see them.
