    Beautiful 1st harvest ( photo / image / picture from gardenelf's Garden )

Last week we enjoyed the first beans from the garden. Four different kinds, taste delicious when mixed.

Of course, they have to be "topped & tailed" first...

Lovely beans! Topping and tailing is no chore, especially with the first picking of the season. Enjoy your beans for dinner.

Those beans look lovely Gardenelf, our seeds are just going in the ground now...hope they are as goodlooking as yours.
The peas are growing up very fast, they seem to like the cool weather, but no flowers yet.
I hope to get enough beans to freeze for the rest of the year. They are so easy to keep like that,we waste none.

Thank you, I hope all your beans & peas taste as good as ours!
The 2nd batch is getting there, I pick a few handsful every day. Lots of spiders lurking between the leaves, sometimes they drop right on top of me. Not so scary, I think of them as little sentinels, protecting the beans from nasty munching bugs.
Small mishap yesterday: one of the bean-pots fell over in the wind (too tall & not enough weight I guess). Now it's all tied up and weighted down. ;)
