this was a wildlife drive thru park near the Grand Canyon ( as close as what you could call near out there)
First up were the ruminants... I think mostly so that the carnivores couldn't escape so easily if the electric cattle crossings failed. 100_2473.JPG
rocky mountain goats. they sure look soft.
    then the elk... 100_2475.JPG

and Wolves... Alaskan Tundra Wolves 100_2476.JPG

    100_2477.JPG

and the Arctic Wolves picture was a fat nothing to see. sorry.

on to the native bison.... 100_2480.JPG
a new calf born earlier this day...

tuck the mirrors in and keep moving... the young bears like to climb on cars. so wse did so.. no pics of the litttler ones... on to the huge adult ones... I wouldn't want to see any of them up close and personal. they are a little less aggressive than grizzlies so maybe a bit "safer" to have in an area such as this. They are well fed by the farm.

this was the end of the drive through on to the walk through area now, there was plenty to see here, too.
inside in a totally enclose area.. a black Panther. I had to shoot through the glass and it was a hard light to see any contrast on its face, but it was not far from the glass, either

an American Badger... We don't have them here, so I had never seen one.

A bobcat... I was a bobcat, by the way... it was our school mascot.

and that my friends are all the animals I have pictures of from the park... way cool to see them all.

More great pics of the animals that you saw in the park.
It was a good opportunity so see some otherwise elusive animals.
Thanks for the posting of the pics and commentary.

Thanks, S. It was a very interesting "zoo" everything was in the open. I was a bit worried about driving through the bison... man, they are huge and when one was snorting and pawing I was a bit concerned.... but we moved on and it didn't get closer than 20 ft.

Carolyn, thank you for taking us along on your great vacation! I love the canyon pictures, and especially the animal photos from the wildlife park.
We have bobcats, and each time I see mama bobcat bring her kits down to the pond to drink, I'll think of you;)!

Thanks Jane. I do enjoy everyone elses photos and I enjoyed this so I thought I need to share this with all of you, too. It isn't possible to go physically and see everything everyone else has seen or done, but is sure is fun to "armchair" ride along.

I think this is a place I would love to visit! My favorites have to be the Wolves and the newborn Bison.
