Bears have gradually been taking over our house to the tune of about 400 to 500 of them. We couldn't set on the chairs in the living room without moving bears. We had a path around the coffee table. The rest of the floor had bears on chairs, benches, in wagons, in baskets and on shelves. Everywhere you looked there were bears, except in the bathroom and the bedroom. dr refused to let any in those rooms. When we went to an estate sale they had a lot of plastic storage boxes, 18 gallon size and one about twice that size. dr bought 11 of the smaller size and the one big one. This morning, I started through the house, stuffing bears into boxes. I only kept out our handmade ones and the special ones and a few I just plain liked more than others. I also boxed up bear chairs, benches, stools, baskets and a cradle that bears had been sitting in or on, plus three small wagons. Then, I moved the book shelf that had been full of bears over by the computer. It divides the computer corner from the sewing corner and makes sort of a small office and an even small sewing room. Then, I moved my desk from by the window and moved two rocking chairs in front of the window with a small table between them. The table holds a couple of small plants. I dusted the shelves left and moved a few things around and I can say that I have a living room again. One that I can use once in awhile. Chance isn't happy because the plant table is where she used to get up and look out so she could bark at things out front. I just need to haul out the vacuum cleaner tomorrow and clean up the floor. Now, after having made supper and washed the dishes, I think I can "start" my day of rest. dooley

Gosh Dooley - you should be taking things a bit slower. Recuperating and all.
I must admit - when you said bears away my first thought was grizzly bears waking up after hibernation...silly me hey ... Ohio being snowed under and all with the blizzard.

Gosh that must be heaven 400 - 500 bears in your house.

My, my, you did get quite a bit done today, I second the motion that you need some R&R time too, don't over do it. Sorry to hear that the bears have gone away. I'm sure the ones left will be more than happy for the extra attention they get.

The house was getting so crowded with the bears that I, myself, decided that I was going to put them in large trash bags and hang them in the shed. dr bought me the boxes so they would be safe and more comfortable. It was my choice which ones went into boxes and which ones stayed on the shelves. I still have approximately 92 bears hanging around the house but we can now walk and we now have a place to sit and for friends to sit. It's looking much better. dooley

There's no accounting for them before they shave and comb their hair.

We have relatives in Upper Michigan and they have to watch out when they go to the dump because bears come to scavage in it. The older kids used to take us at night to watch when we went to visit. dooley
