Beautiful but detrimental

    Had to look twice today to see this beautiful fuschia caterpillar.

    You can see the holes he is eating in the salvia buds.

    It certainly blended in a little too well with your fuschias Bethie. Just as well you spotted it before it did any real damage. Do you know what kind of caterpiller it is/was?

    OMG I've never seen that colour on an insect before, amazing! It blends in so well. At the risk of sounding strange it looks good enough to eat :eek: Thanks for the surprise Bethie ;)

    We have grasshoppers that color here sometimes. I can't bring myself to kill them.

    I have never seen a Caterpillar that color.I wonder if the flower was yellow or blue or what ever would it change to the same color.

    What butterfly will it become? Will the butterfly be red too? Does it sting or bite? What a beautiful caterpillar. Love it.
