A lot has happened in a short period of time. First my mom's husband passed in NY, GD graduated in Ohio, Daughter got married in Scotland ( I did not go) and tomorrow we leave again for NY to move my mom to Virginia. We have spent weeks looking for an apartment for her. Finally found one and as luck (I hope) would have it, it's right across the street from us. We are going by Amtrak to Albany and rent a uhaul when we get there. It will just be Rich, myself and my 88 year old mom packing and loading up a whole house full. When all is done my mom and I will take Amtrak back to Va. and Rich will drive the uhaul towing her car behind. I'm tired just thinking of it all. Whew. When I have time I will share my daughter's wedding pictures. It was a beautiful wedding and I do wish I could of been there. They will be getting home tonight and we leave tomorrow morning. So here's to hoping the weeds don't take over and everything goes smoothly this week. See y'all in a few days.
Donna, these trying times are sent to us so we can say later, "How did we do all that?" It just shows us how strong and persistent we are. I'll have you in my prayers until I see pictures of your daughter's wedding, and hear that you are safe and sound back at home. (Don't worry about the weeds--they'll wait for you!).
Donna I hope all goes well with the move for you all and that you mother settles in well to her new home. Have a safe trip to Virginia. I'll look forward to your daughter's wedding photographs when you get back.
I am hoping you have a safe and uneventful trip with your Mom and your husband. I think as parents get older it makes it doubly hard, especially when they need to go in a nursing home. sorry you didn't get to be at your daughters wedding .... we will be waiting for the pictures.
Wow, that's a lot But I know what you mean. I too look back on things I've tackled and wondered how on EARTH I managed to accomplish them! I'm looking forward to those wedding pictures when you finally catch your breath! And I hope your Mom's move goes smoothly. Bonus points for finding a place for your Mom right across the street!!
Wow, that's a lot coming at you all at once, Donna. I'm glad to hear that your Mom is going to be across the street from you. Hopefully she'll make new friends soon and settle in. I'm sorry you missed your daughters wedding but hopefully they took many pictures for you to see.
