I have encountered this beetle repeatedly, abdolutely skeletonizing any vegetable plant leaves in my garden (in Long Island, NY). Any IDs? And ways to best them? Thanks in advance.
The back does not have the long stripes of the colorado potato beetle. It is blotchy tan, brown/ black. I should have tried to get a better picture, but the last one flew away when I fiddled about too much posing him.
For the record, it is the "oriental beetle". From now on, if I find grubs under the ground, they get squished! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oriental_beetle Dirty scrounger!
